12th Edition MercedesTrophy

Over 58,000 golfers from 43 countries will vie for top honors in the tournament that defines sports, exclusivity, entertainment and glamor, with a class that epitomizes Mercedes-Benz.

The MercedesTrophy, with its 20 year old legacy as the biggest and finest golfing event in the world, now in its twelfth edition in India, offers Indian golfers the opportunity to compete internationally even as they rub shoulders with some of the game's most successful proponents.

The introduction of the MercedesTrophy Invitational Golf Tournament is a testimony to the huge success & growing popularity of the MercedesTrophy in India. This 21 year old global amateur tournament is currently into its 12th edition in India.

In India qualifying rounds have already taken place in – Pune, Ahmedabad & Hyderabad with Jaipur, Mumbai, Delhi & Bangalore to follow them soon. Regional rounds in Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru & Chandigarh, will culminate at the MercedesTrophy National finals in June 2012. The three winners at the national final will participate in the MercedesTrophy World Finals – at Stuttgart, Germany against winners from all over the world.

MercedesTrophy Tournament ambassador, ace Indian professional Gaganjeet Bhullar is expected to make an appearance, as he has in the past two years, at select rounds of the event where he will participate in a special “beat the pro” contest.

The approximate 2000 Indian amateurs who compete in the tournament will compete in three handicap divisions decided on the basis of entries received - which are expected to be under 16 handicaps, Under 20 handicap and under 24 handicap. Winners and runners up in the three divisions advance to the National final to be held in June 2012

Golf Clinics by leading professional golf instructors of India will be held to broadbase the game and are open to ladies and children also at each venue of the MercedesTrophy.
